About Coimbatore


hello friends...

I am back again to share my views on Coimbatore....
Coimbatore is a city which is situated in sounthern part of tamil nadu.Coimbatore is called as an Manchester of south India...As it has it an important textile-manufacturing centre in India.It is also a major producer of cotton in india.Main thing about Coimbatore is its climate.As it is situated in the shadows of the Western Ghats it is having a very pleasant climate through out the year.It is one of the interesting tourist spots of South India. The city has various parks and famous temples.The VOC Park and Zoo is named after the famous freedom fighter V. O. Chidambaram. The Marudhamalai Temple which about 12 km from Coimbatore Railway Station,Perur temple which is 10 km from railway station are the famous and oldest temples in Coimbatore.There is an Forest College, which is one of the oldest institutions in the country.It has a famous and oldest agriculture university.The Coimbatore Agriculture University is reputed to be one of the best institutions of its kind in South Asia.It has one more famous university named bharathiar university which is also a very old university.Their are about 80 arts and science which are situated in and around Coimbatore.
Coimbatore is an important industrial city of TamilNadu. Mainly it has many textile-manufacturing industries. There are more than a hundred textile mills in and around Coimbatore apart from a number of other manufacturing units, which produce engineering equipment and electronic items.You can also purchase textiles and ready made garments in Coimbatore as it is an important textile-manufacturing centre in India.The famous tourist spots in Coimbatore are VOC park which contains several animals , Agriculture University which is one of the oldest university of India, botanical garden which contains thousands of varieties of plants.Coming to temples, it contains mainly two famous temples namely perur temple and the Marudhamalai Temple.The perur temples is an very old temple which was built by cholas and the Marudhamalai Temple was not much older but it is located on an hill.The climate near the temple will be so pleasant and pollution free.Then the places like ooty,kodaikanal is very near from it.Ooty is only 60 km from Coimbatore and kodaikanal is also only 150 km from Coimbatore.It also contains several water fally namely Siruvani Waterfalls ,thirumuthy falls ,kovai kutrallam,vidhahi water falls.

I have stayed 5 years in Coimbatore.I feel it is best place for living....
